Currently there are 10 modules. As our District grows and changes, we may need more. We might even delete or combine some others. However, the long-term effectiveness and success of this modular approach depends on three critical conditions:
1. Leaders must adopt a learning posture. We must be committed to continued learning. Admitting to ourselves that we do not have it “all together” and that we need help is the first challenge. Become a life-long learner. The best leaders are not those who are knowledgeable but rather those who are teachable. Be willing to attend, join, or participate in the opportunities provided for you!
2. Leaders must be committed to one another’s growth and spiritual walk. We have to carry another’s burden and make the load lighter. We are partners – brothers and sisters. Our interests are common, not opposed. In the long run, the Kingdom success of each is dependent upon the success of the other. “Two are better than one because they have good return for their work; if one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be over-powered two can defend themselves. A cord of two strands is not quickly broken.”
3. Several credential holders must be willing to become the leader of a module. One or two leaders are needed to quarterback each module. Each individual leader or “quarterback” will become a part of the Pastor Care and Development Team. This team will meet occasionally to push PCD forward. It is not necessary, in every case, that the module leader be a credential holder.
